Base64 Converter

Base64 rewrites any text as a narrow alphabet of letters, digits, plus and slash, so it survives systems that only expect plain ASCII — data URLs, email headers, JSON payloads and HTTP basic auth all rely on it.

Paste text and encode it, or paste Base64 and decode it. Decoding checks the input first: something that is not valid Base64, or that does not decode to text, is reported instead of guessed at.

Base64 is an encoding, not encryption. Anyone holding the string can read it back, so it is not a way to hide a password or a key.
