Enter the length of the period in seconds and how many of those seconds were down. The result is given to four decimal places, which is where the difference between 99.9% and 99.99% actually lives.

It also states the downtime a 99.9% target permits over the same period, so a service level agreement can be checked against what happened rather than argued about.
